Having eyes wide open 100% of the time seems like a very daunting task.
The illusion persists, as it always has, but it is not some evil demonic creature hell bent on creating misery. It is only the relationship we have with the illusion that is capable of creating misery. The illusion is there and we cannot ignore it. Sometimes it cries out to be indulged and it is okay to indulge it, and have the perception of reality remain intact. It can even be fun. This does not mean closing one's eyes or going back to sleep. Truth persists. The role still exists and you can either allow it to play itself out and enjoy the ride, the performance, not with indifference but with compassion and without judgement... or resist, push against it, suffocate it and deny it. The dream isn't perfect, although it is a beautiful dream. It has it's light and it's darkness, it's joy and it's sadness. It is always entertaining and never boring. It is to be cherished wholeheartedly and unconditionally.
